Three ladies of the month, for November 2016

By Norma Collins

UHC Secretary Norma Collins wrote this column for the November 2016 edition of Hadashot.

The three ladies we are remembering this month: Lillian Adelman, Millie Felstein and Pat Hoffman.

Lillian Adelman… Lillian was a member of United Hebrew Congregation and taught school for many years with Vigo County Schools. She loved being a homemaker and being a mother to Barbara, who faithfully visited her when she was in Southwood Nursing Facility. Also, she so enjoyed her grandson Jeffrey and her great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kelli. She loved having her nieces and nephews visit, too. When I visited my nother at Southwood, I would visit Lillian from time to time and she was always so pleasant.

Millie Felstein… Millie graduated from Wiley High School, was a member of United Hebrew Congregation and was co-founder of Clothes Closet and a member of Federation of Jewish Women. Millie adored her family and was so happy when they visited and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She always had a smile that would light up a room.

Pat Hoffman… Pat was active in many activities at the Temple. One of the things she enjoyed was establishing the Louis Hoffman Campership Fund so children were able to attend camp in the summer in Zionsville. This was truly a passion of Pat’s — she cared for children so much. She was active with the Federation of Jewish Women. She was such a classy lady and I remember people telling her she looked like she just stepped out of a band box. I guess that was a saying in those days and it was truly a compliment.
