If you are reading your Hadashot newsletter today, that means we have made it through 5776. I think that is God’s way of telling us our work here on earth is not done. Have you ever wondered what that work is? I know I do. At the end of the day I try to look back and think, did I save a life, teach someone something or tell someone I love them and they are important?

United Hebrew Congregation Terre Haute Sisterhood will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the old Jewish section at Highland Lawn Cemetery, to spruce up markers and headstones.
They’ll pay particular attention to graves that no longer receive family visits and will mark each grave with small stones, according to Jewish tradition.
Three ladies of the month, for October 2016
This month, we remember Carolyn Gurman, Rona Schultz and Pearl Stern.
Rona was born in Chicago, met Robert on a blind date and moved to Terre Haute in 1942. She loved golf, a passion she shared with Robert. She also enjoyed playing bridge and solitaire and was interested in the arts and antiques.
