Indiana State University Alumni Association to honor UHC’s Jo Einstandig

The Indiana State University Alumni Association has announced the recipients of the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Awards, the association’s most prestigious honor. Our very own Jo Einstandig is among four honorees who will be recognized during the event at 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 12, at the Sycamore Banquet Center.

Jo earned undergraduate (1961) and graduate degrees (1967) in elementary education from Indiana State. She was employed with the Vigo County School Corp. and also served as vice president of JEBB’s Inc. for 20 years and vice president of Jeiba Inc., a trucking company in Terre Haute.

Joe and her late husband Jerry were co-chairs of President’s Scholars Golf Outing committee to support student scholarships.

She and her late husband Jerry were co-chairs of President’s Scholars Golf Outing committee to support student scholarships. As co-founder of the Ladies Tee, Jo has served on the committee since its founding 10 years ago to help raise funds for female student athletes at Indiana State.

Jo supports Indiana State through her involvement with the ISU Foundation Board, President’s Society, Book and Torch Society and Alumni Council. She serves with the Union Health Foundation, Wabash Valley Community Education, Delta Gamma Sorority, 100+ Women Who Care, P.E.O. and the United Hebrew Congregation board.

She has served as secretary on the committee for directory and board of governance for the ISU Foundation Board of Directors and Wabash Valley Community Foundation.

Her past community service includes Children’s Theatre of Terre Haute, League of Terre Haute Leadership, Terre Haute Symphony and Tri Kappa.
