Herschel Chait and Susan Kray will lead a virtual Shavout study session via Zoom conference from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2021.
The session will cover two vital questions:
- Why are they trudging long, lonely dirt roads — just two lone women, Naomi and her foreign daughter-in-law, with no weapons, no bodyguards and no Krav Maga?
- Seven prophets (Sarah, Miriam, Deborah, Hannah, Abigail, Huldah Esther) confront or command men: a warlord, a general, a priest, kings and heroes. So, how does a mild-mannered little foreigner, that go-along to get-along, rootless, roofless Ruth, rate a whole book all her own?
The event will also include a reading of the Book of Ruth.
