At United Hebrew Congregation Terre Haute, Sisterhood-sponsored onegs remain a warm feature of Friday night Shabbat services.
Student Rabbi Aaron Rozovsky led the kiddush and hamotzi following services on Dec. 9, before congregants and guests shared coffee, cake, quiche and good wishes.
During a previous visit on Nov. 18, Rabbi Aaron prefaced Shabbat services by supervising a belated Simchat Torah celebration, as members unrolled the Torah to mark a new cycle of weekly readings.
A celebratory oneg followed. Scott Skillman cut the challah.
Meanwhile, Rabbi Aaron and Herschel Chait debated points of Torah.
